London Michelin Guide 2012
For the 7th year running we are very proud to have retained our Bib Gourmand from Michelin - an award to recognize "good food at moderate prices" and are also thrilled that we have retained our Michelin grape symbol to recognise "a particularly interesting wine list".
Charity Football for Reachout
A team of from the restaurants recently entered the ReachOut! Charity Cup 2012- a 5-a-side football tournament organised by 13 and 14 year old boys from Hackney to raise funds to subsidise their trip to Spain with local mentoring charity ReachOut!Every week, along with 150 other young people, these boys attend the ReachOut! Academy, where they complete an hour of academic work before taking part in football training. They also each have a ReachOut! mentor to provide advice, help them with their studies and be an inspiration.

Streetsmart

Opera Tavern
We are delighted to let you know that we have just opened our third restaurant. Opera Tavern is a beautiful two storey bar and restaurant in Covent Garden.
We’ll be serving a menu of tapas alongside charcuterie, cheese and specials from our charcoal grill.

Sustainable Restaurant Association
Salt Yard is pleased to have joined the Sustainable Restaurant Association, a not for profit organisation helping restaurants to become more sustainable and community orientated.
As part of our membership we have pledged to source our fish from sustainable sources, recycle more and support a local charity.
We have switched fish suppliers to two companies dedicated to sourcing sustainable fish and where possible from British waters. In the Autumn we hope to start sourcing daily specials direct from Cornish dayboats.
We have started using 100% recycled menu paper and have begun to recycle all our paper
We are fundraising for local charity The House of St Barnabas (www.hosb.org.uk) a Soho charity dedicated to rehabilitating homeless people with an emphasis on hospitality and work placements. An optional £1 is added to customers’ bills and we hope to raise over £12,000 this year. If you would like any further information get in touch with sanja@saltyard.co.uk
New Head Chef
Our current head chef is Andrew Clarke who joined us in September 2010. Andrew has previously worked at the Anchor and Hope in Waterloo, was head chef at the Swan in West Malling and Chez Kristof in Hammersmith. His training and experience may be French and British but he has converted to Salt Yard’s Spanish and Italian cuisine. He enjoys slow cooking and featuring secondary cuts when he can in his dishes. Andrew has brought fresh ideas to Salt Yard whilst still balancing them with our signature dishes.
Taste of London 2011
We are thrilled to be taking part in Taste of London in Regent's Park on 16th-19th June. London's top restaurants will be gathering for four days of gourmet food sampling. Come and try some of our delicious tapas at our stand!

We are thrilled to announce that Salt Yard has been nominated in the ITV London Restaurant Awards in the best Iberian catogary. The winner will be announced in September.

New Head Chef
March 06-We are very pleased to announce that Benjamin Tish has joined us as Head Chef. He comes from the 3 Rosette Al Duca in St James' and The Crinan Hotel in Scotland. He brings Michelin Star experience and has a passion for seasonal ingredients and quality produce- a perfect match with Salt Yard!.
Bib Gourmand
Salt Yard has been awarded a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide 2006 for "good food at moderate prices". This is a great acheivement within our first year of opening.
2 AA Rosettes
We are incredibly pleased to announce that Salt Yard has been awarded two AA rosettes for its delicious food. A wonderful achievement for our head chef Brian Villahermosa and his team.
